Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club sponsors summer camps and trips for the children in low cost housing owned and rented by Good Shepherd Housing. We also support its Walk-A-Thon for the Homeless.

Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club sponsors summer camps and trips by the children in the homeless shelter, its Teen Center activities, and its Walk-A-Thon for the Homeless.

Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club hosts a monthly karaoke or bingo game with gift certificate prizes. It also partially funds a workplace training teacher.

Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club partners in many ways with UCM, including sponsoring trips by the children and families from Sacramento Neighborhood Center (SNC) and Creekside Neigborhood Center, hosting karaoke at SNC, teaching ESL at SNC, collecting food for the UCM Food Pantry, sending kids to summer camps, and purchasing needed supplies and equipment upon occasion.
