Location: PRS Office, Sacramento Plaza
We will host another popular bingo for the PRS day clients, with the usual $5 gift certificatees to Wal-Mart or McDonalds as prizes, and coffee donated by Starbucks from Mt. Vernon Plaza.

Our Guest Speaker tonight will be Cristina Lamar-Schoendorf, Director of Progreso Hispano, an NGO on route 1 that assists Spanish-speaking residents in our area to learn English (Bruce teaches there every Tuesday night), computer skiills, and study for the US Citizenship test. She has been in the nonprofit sector for 12 years, the last 5 years as Executive Director of Progreso Hispano, a community development and advocacy 501(c)(3) organization, which seeks to empower immigrants to improve the quality of their lives and of their communities through education, immigration services, and leadership development. The agency partners with local government, police, public schools, and other local non-profits to help meet the needs of the community. Cristina also is the Co-Facilitator of Ventures in Communities (VIC), and a member of the Lee-Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce’s Hispanic Advisory Board.

The Division Presidents and other KC leaders meet with the Lt-Gov and other Kiwanis officials to exchange news and information. Breakfast is supplied by the Fairfax KC, and is well worth the $4 charged. Great chance to meet fellow Kiwanians and learn new ideas. All members welcome.
